1 Dr. Richard Yu

Richard Yu grew up in Botany and is a medical graduate of the University of Auckland. He had a varied medical career before obtaining his Fellowship in General Practice, including working at Whangarei Hospital as a medical registrar managing complex acute and chronic conditions.

Richard enjoys all aspects of General Practice and is committed to the long term health of his patients, as well as professional development in the latest medical trends and treatments. His special interests in Dermatology and Mental Health have led to a Certificate in Dermatology (including minor surgery/procedures) and a scholarship towards postgraduate studies in Mental Health.

Richard has also developed a special interest in Appearance Medicine, establishing "Clinic Vis-à-Vis" within Marina Medical, to provide patients with a wide range of options to suit their needs. These includes fillers and Botox, skin peels, micro-needling, and radiofrequency treatment. Check out clinicvisavis.co.nz for more information.

In his spare time Richard loves playing the viola and piano in the local orchestra and at his church. His other passions include history, board games, and badminton. Richard is married to Joyce, a community pharmacist working in Meadowbank.

Richard is fluent in English and Mandarin and can understand some Cantonese and French.
